Colors of Fall, Lip Edition

Welcome to No Buy November. My beautiful friends, Liz from My Pretty Obsessions and Rodneya from Neya V Beauty Talk, and I have agreed to not purchase any beauty items for ourselves in the month of November in order to remain humble and thankful for the things we already own, In an effort to keep me focused during my No Buy November I am going to be doing some posts to help me delve into my collection in order to find some gems that are tucked away. Liz and Neya are doing a great Shop my Stash series. All of our posts can be found in the links below.  I had planned on doing this last month but I got engrossed in the BBBB Building a Better Beauty Blog series. If you are interested in that series you can find the posts under the BBBB tab just under my header.

So today's post is about the Colors of Fall for your lips, I am going to dig through my collection to show you some beautiful lip colors that I really enjoy this time of year. Of course, I could dig for hours and come up with numerous combinations but today I am going to share just four of my favorites that get plenty of love this time of year.

This collection is definitely one of my favorites, probably because it's just a deeper nude. Fall is the perfect time for deeper, richer nudes. I lined my the outer portion of my lips, applied the lipstick all over my lips and then placed a tiny bit of gloss into the center of my bottom lip.

NYX Long Lip Pencil in Nutmeg
MAC Luster Lipstick in Viva Glam VI
Milani Crystal Gloss in Summer Baby

This pairing is easy to wear yet so beautiful on the lips. It's a berry shade with lighter coverage so it doesn't feel so heavy on the lips. It adds some warmth and color. No special application techniques here just put the lip butter all over the lips and then place the gloss on top.

Revlon Lip Butter in Raspberry Pie
Revlon Superlustrous Gloss in Pink Pop

It should be considered a crime to not have a deep wine lip for fall. It is quintessentially fall for me. I love the deep, rich color that will warm up the stereotypical browns and golds of fall. I began my the outer portion of my lips with the lip pencil, apply the lipstick all over and top it all with the gloss.

MAC Lip Pencil in Auburn
Milani Color Statement in Plumrose
17 Ultimate Volume Lip Gloss in Very Berry

My dear friend Cella from For the Love of Beauty advised me that I really needed to try a purple lip. I will explain that I am too chicken to just go for full out purple but I figured I would ease my way into it. The lipstick in this combination is sheer so I opted to put a light layer of the balm stain first. Then apply lipstick and top it will this gorgeous gloss.

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Lovesick
Revlon Superlustrous shine in Berry Couture
Sephora Lip Gloss in Vivid Violet Sparkling
